This is my first post since the devestating tornado hit my state and I want you to know the town I live in was well out of the danger zone this time. But it was certainly heartbreaking to watch the town I used to live in (Moore) go through this again! Back on May 3,1999 we lived in Moore in a trailer park that was only spared a direct hit because the tornado suddenly turned to the north. That one missed us by a few miles but the damage to our surrounding town was heavy and complete... That was a history making weather event that none of us ever expected to see repeat in our lifetimes! Then a couple years later a smaller but just as destructive twister took that same path through Moore and erased many of the reconstructed homes from the last one. By this time we had moved out west of Okc and on May 24,2011 the piedmont tornado formed a mile and a half south of our land... I have grainy photos of it forming which no amount of editing has been able to improve... So I never posted them. That was the second largest tornado in Ok history and nearly got us again, in fact the outer bands of wind on it did knock our Harley over. Now this week we witnessed the third largerst and possibly most devestaing tornado of all rip right down its preferred path through Moore again! It's just unnerving how this one town keeps getting destroyed over and over! Three times in less than two decades. But we have also witnessed the indomitable Oklahoma spirit that will never be kept down! That spirit that never gives up or turns and runs away, but picks up the pieces and gets on with living! it makes me thankful to live in such a place with such people! So things are going to be looking up!
