This is part of an awesome mural on one of our downtown buildings. I don't know who the artist was was but they are really good! When I first moved to this town in the late 80's it was gasping its last dying breaths. Like many small towns in Oklahoma, the oil bust started it on a downhill path to economic collapse. All the young people were moving away to bigger towns and cities where there was more opportunity for them. Businesses were struggling and closing their doors one by one. But then after the Okc bombing of the Federal building it seems like suddenly the spotlight on Oklahoma helped turn things around. Our town started a mainstreet restoration project and this mural as well as many others were funded by that project. All the murals I've seen are very well done and fitting for our local history. I love this part of this one the best. It was my dream to do this kind of thing for a living. Hey, it could still happen. Im not dead yet! Lol. And so as tragic as the bombing was it also helped good things to happen in the state. Triumph out of tragedy!!!
